61306 Mayflower at Goathland Station Gallery: Locomotives Description: 61306 was built in 1948 by the North British Locomotive Company. Though built to an L N E R design, it was delivered after nationalisation to British Railways. After a nineteen year career it was withdrawn from Low Moor depot(56 F Bradford) in September 1967. 61306 was purchased for preservation at Steamtown Carnforth. Although having the number 61306 it was given the name Mayflower, from another Thompson built B 1 No 61379. In 2006 after overhaul it returned to the mainline as 61306 in Apple Green with British Railways on the tender. Mayflower is seen here on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at the head of a rake of Gresley teak coaches at Goathland station.
