SE5a Wing Dip Gallery: Aircraft Description: F904,one of fifty that came on the civil market after May 1920. The Royal Aircraft Establishment decided to restore it for the Shuttleworth Collection. The restoration by apprentices and staff at R A E Farnborough in 1957,and the SE5a flew in 1959. Following problems with the Hispano - Suiza engine it was changed for a 200hp Wolseley Viper V8 engine found in America and currently flies from Shuttlewoth today
