Lysander wing Dip Gallery: Aircraft Description: V944 is a Lysander 111A being built in Canada. It served as a target tug with the R C A F .But it is best known for dropping and recovering agents in occupied Europe in WW 2 In 1971 it was bought by Sir William Roberts. Restoration to flying condition was started in 1978, but was kept as a static exhibit. The Shuttleworth Collection bought it in 1998 and restored to flying condition and is now the only one of it's type flying in the UK
